This taco soup is made with cheddar cheese and ground turkey. The recipe is easy to prepare and requires the following ingredients.
( Please note that the brands mentioned here are only to serve as a general guideline and you may use any brand you choose)
Ingredients:
1. A medium sized onion.
2. Two tins of Eden Garden diced tomatoes with green chillies.
3. A tin of Bush's dark red kidney beans.
4. 680 grams of ground turkey.
5. 2 ounces of regular sour cream.
6. A packet of Hidden Valley original ranch mix (one ounce).
7. 12 ounces of water.
8. A quarter cup of semi-matured cheddar cheese. If this is not available, regular processed cheddar cheese will do.
9. A tin of Juanita's white hominy (fifteen ounces).
10. A packet of Taco Bell taco seasoning mix (1.25 ounce).
Preparation:
1. Take a dutch oven and add in the diced onions along with the ground turkey. Let it cook till the turkey turns brownish in color. Remove the grease from the oven.
2. Add in the dark red kidney beans, along with the tomato chilli mix, Juanita's hominy, ranch dressing and taco bell taco seasoning, Mix all the ingredients well and let it cook under a low flame for about 2 hours. (If necessary, add a cup of water to bring the soup to the right consistency).
3. The soup can be served with a topping of grated cheddar cheese and plop of regular sour cream.
